How It Works
Plan ahead. The process typically takes several months, and H-2B visas are subject to an annual cap. Start at least 6 months before your start date.
1. Case evaluation
We review your family's schedule and confirm the need is temporary.
2. Prevailing wage
We request the required wage determination from the Department of Labor.
3. Recruitment and labor certification
We run the required U.S. recruitment and file the ETA-9142B.
4. USCIS petition
Once certified, we file the I-129 petition.
5. Visa and arrival
Your nanny attends a consular interview and travels on the approved dates.

Can we hire a nanny we already know?
In many cases, yes. The petition can name a specific person. Before that, though, the law requires you to offer the job to U.S. workers through a recruitment process, and if a qualified U.S. worker applies, you must hire them. Your nanny also generally needs to be a citizen of a country on the H-2B eligible countries list and qualify for the visa. We review all of this during your case evaluation.
